Good old Royal Mail

We made three orders online on the 14th, all were promised for delivery on or before 18th. 1 was to be delivered by RM, 1 by Citylink and 1 by Hermes.

RM delivered on Moday:T, no sign of the parcels from other couriers.

I received an eBay parcel through Click and Collect which seems to get a good bashing on here. Posted in local shop (SE England) Friday morning, delivered Monday pm (N Scotland). Site states if posted Fri expect delivery Wed-Fri so pretty good really. I wonder when your other items were actually despatched.

I am particularly disappointed with Citylink which was an urgent item and next day delivery, promised 15th. I have checked Citylink website and they record it was collected on the 14th and delivered on the 18th. I have complained to the supplier Javari who have despatched a replacement.

Hermes tracking shows they picked up on the 15th and "out for delivery to courier (!!!!!! does that mean?) @05.30 on 18th and courier received @ 09.50 on the 19th. I have complained to the supplier (Boots) and they have not responded.

it means that the parcel was delivered to the self employed couriers home and now you have to wait for that courier to decide when they feel like delivering it to you. Fingers crossed you have a good Hermes courier in your area.

I am pleased to report that both parcels have now been delivered.

I find it quite irritating to wait all day for a courier who does not show up on the day they promise to deliver. They have my phone number, is it too much to expect a call, "sorry we cannot deliver today"? It appears (to me) that suppliers choose the cheapest delivery option and most take little responsibility for ensuring parcels are delivered in a timely manner.

    Thanks for reading my rant.

Strange with Javari. My orders from them have always been delivered next day even up here in the "delivery surcharge" area.

I have always had good service from Javari too. They were most helpful when I contacted them and despatched a replacement within the hour of my complaint.

Any company can screw up, but this is not the first time I have had problems with Citylink telling porkies. Last time "we left the parcel in your shed". I live in a flat and there are no "sheds".
