Record for switching?

What is the shortest time any member has been with any power company before switching?
I was informed by Eon that they will be charging me a standing charge for my Gas.As a low user I worked out that this would raise my annual bill from around £25 a year to over a hundred for the same amount of Gas.Because of this I checked out the comparison sites and changed both my Gas and Electricity to Npower and their "Go Save" accounts for both.My first contact from Npower since then has been a letter I received today telling me that from May 1st they're changing their pricing method,to make their charges "much simpler and easier to understand" including a new 44p per day standing charge for Gas,which takes my potential bill much higher than even EON's post money grab rates!!
So,after less than a month I'm shopping around again,I'm not on the breadline but I object to having these people being able to just whack up my Gas prices at will by several hundred percent, for others on a fixed income this kind of thing is nothing short of disastrous.

As far as I know they have no standing charge perhaps someone can confirm.
If there is a contract tell N power that the change there making results in a price increase and you reject the change.0 -
In the past I did regularly switched when cash backs were in the region of £140, I dont know what is the shortest time to safely switch but I always left it until until the switch had gone through so my shortest time was about 5weeks however last year I switched and it only took 3 weeks.
If you try to switch again before the previous switch has completed risks causing confusion and possible problems.0 -

I don't believe any of the energy companies are immune from this, and if they haven't started using standing charges yet, they very soon will do.0 -
Am with Ebico, they charge one national gas rate though electric is according to region. And have read on another thread that if Ebico are forced to charge a daily rate , it will be 0.00pence per day.0

I'd also add that Scottish Power give you the option of whether you want to be billed with standing charges or higher tarriffs. But you have to take both fuels from them if you want the latter option0
