Had this problem many years ago.Dont like using chemicals.Only one way I found worked.
Every few days hoe it off _it takes forever but does work.
Awise gardener once said there is no problem with weeds you just bend down and pick them up.Always found this sound advice.Remember only people who say money doesn't matter have already got enough :think:0 -
If you have other plants around which you don't want to kill, then you can inject the horse tail with weedkiller:

I bought a syringe from Poundland (they come with the ink cartridge refill kits) & am using this method to kill the Japanese Knotweed I have.
The roots of horsetail go very deep so pulling them out the ground won't kill it off. You need something which will kill the root off.0 -
