Why would this be affected by not allowing email addresses in messaging?
You can still send messages. If it's a business seller you should have their email address, address and phone number from their seller pages, so what's the difference? You can still go and view something if there is that option.
Not being allowed to put an email address in a messaging system is hardly an abuse of your civil rights. Calm down people:beer:

I was talking about a contact tel number in a message, I thought these would be removed???

The thing i would like to see blocked are sellers being able to see my paypal email address.

Had several fake paypal emails over the years. Either random spam or dodgy sellers.

I do not use that email for any other purpose.

It's that or your credit card details. Perhaps be a bit more dicerning which sellers you choose to use? ;)

    How will they police this?

If it's automated couldn't you get round it with the ' at yahoo dot co dot uk' trick?

It depends how sensitive they make it. Amazon don't even let you do this!

I bought something on Amazon that didn't arrive and the seller refunded me, then it turned up about a week later. I wasn't able to pay again through Amazon so the seller tried to give me his Paypal address so I could pay directly as I still wanted the item. Right nightmare! It actually got to the level of "my first name and surname with no spaces in between, followed by the first letter of the alphabet inside a circle, followed by some post that is not of the cold variety, followed by a very small spot, followed by the first three letters of the word company". It took him about five attempts to get past the filter!

The info in the link says "Messages that include phone numbers and links to additional information that aid in the purchase decision or facilitate item delivery will still be permitted."
