cheated out of loan protection rights - help

Hi All My late father had loan protect gold insurance on his northern rock personal loan and they still made us pay out the nearly £1400 that was outstanding on his loan. anyone know the contact details for making a claim? googling is just pinging up with dodgy PPI schemes.
Amber Credit for Apex insurance did exactly the same to us. anyone know their contacts?

"Loan Protect Gold" wasn't life insurance?

If you want to complain that the PPI was mis-sold you'll need valid reasons to do so.

  • the underwritters (cardif pinnacle) of the northern rock policy stated "unable to accept claim for life benefit. This is because (my late father) the condition is considered pre-existing to the policy and consequently excluded. He died instantly from an undiagnosed genetic heart condition.
The policy was taken out in June 2005 and he was began seeing the doctor feeling unwell in february 2006, being that he died end of march 2006 when nothing was diagnosed.
do you think it is worth persuing?

You'll have to check the conditions of the policy, I'm afraid. The fact that there was no diagnosis of the heart defect would appear to strengthen your case.
I wasn't even aware there was a life insurance element to these policies...

The gold cover is the most expensive, think the op has a case here, pre existing medical condition that did not pay out on death.
