I'm wanting to get a mortgage but don't have the best credit rating around, it's fair with a score of 777! I've never had any CCJ's and currently have no outstanding debts whatsoever! I'm just wanting some advice on the possibilities of getting a mortgage and the best way of going about it!!

Credit scores are nothing to do with anything.
If you posted some details of your mortgage aspirations, credit history, income etc, I'm sure someone could offer some constructive help.0 -
The score means diddly squat! Get the statutory copies of your credit records from all three main companies. Got any defaults? Late payments? On electoral roll?
How much do you earn? What is your deposit? How much do you want to borrow?"You've been reading SOS when it's just your clock reading 5:05 "0 -
I'm looking at houses around the £110-£120k mark with a 10% deposit, I earn £30k a year. I've had credit cards and many other accounts in the past which unfortunately I've had late payments on, but I've been debt free for over a year now and don't owe a penny to anyone!?0

Did any of the accounts go to debt collection or officially defaulted?
If not, lender selection will be crucial but likely to be achievable..I am a Mortgage Broker

Yeah majority went to debt collection companies, but the last one I paid off was 2010 and there has been none since!0

Do they show as defaulted on your credit file. If so, will have a date next to them?I am a Mortgage Broker

Only 1 with a default the rest are satisfactory!?0

Then I would suggest you get all of the credit files to verify; Experian, Equifax and Call Credit reports.
10% deposit on the face of it is unlikely, but impossible to confirm without all of the reports/details.
With a 15% deposit, this should be achievable given the dates involved.
