Approved Service? Unsure?

Can anyone help please?

I have a car on hire purchase, I plan to return it after the minimum term (due in December)

But I have to ensure it's services right to avoid being charged?

Can I just take it to my local garage and thus still retain the warranty?

I have been quote £400 by the dealer and £60 by my local garage.

The £60 service wont be a full service using GENUINE parts.
Is that an oil change and little else?

What does your contract say about the service?

To retain the warranty it has to be serviced to the manufacturers schedule using genuine parts.

Given the price difference, the quote you have been given is not like for like so the warranty will not be valid.

I know some/most dealer servicing can be expensive, but with that difference in price there's no way your local garage is going to do a full service in line with manufacturer requirements.
