How to get from Clearwater to Orlando

Options
Hi
Im going to Clearwater (Hilton, Clearwater Beach) and then going to the Doubletree at seaworld in Orlando. Im looking for an easy way to make the trip? Any ideas?
I have looked at hiring a car but it seems I can only hire one from Clearwater airport and it will cost me as much to travel to the airport as the car hire.
Is there a handy bus? or an easier method that someone has used?

Thanks

f

Hour and half in a car.

    Good, easy drive.

Could you not get a hire car delivered to the hotel? Most major hire companies offer this service.

As Mr W said, it's a really easy, straight drive.

I just went onto Hertz, first one I thought of, they have a location at the Marriott, Clearwater Beach. That might work if you can't get a delivery.

Avis have a Downtown Clearwater office, if that helps.

Ten years since I have been over the pond, at that time there was a free transfer bus run by Sea World giving free transport from Sea World to Busch Gardens.
    Would this help ?

It may not be convenient for you to do this, if you need the car for simply that trip then pick it up from Hertz on saturday and then use the hilton's self parking ($7.00 - Overnight). Book for 24 hours and drop it off at one of the I-drive Hertz locations.

Alternatively, take a look at Budget. They are open Sunday Morning, they have a location in Clearwater thats about 10 mins from your hotel by cab. There's an I-drive drop off location and they are cheaper, they both close at 1pm though, so you may have to do the drive early unless you keep the car until the following morning.
