Motor Insurance
My insurance company has told me that I cannot leave my my current insurance policy because there is an ongoing claim against it from last May. As far as they are concerned I no longer have any part in the case but won't let me cancel. Can anyone advise on whether this is correct as they have increased my policy by £40 per month. My policy recently re-newed automatically while I was working away.

Usually, if you cancelled in the same period of insurance that the claim occurred you would get no refund (or have to pay the remaining instalments).
You are now in a new period of insurance so I would say you can cancel, subject to any cancellations charges.
What does your policy say about cancelling?0
