I imagine the original Management Company was a limited company, so would now have been dissolved. You can find out how to restore the company from Companies House (bring accounts and annual returns up to date and pay fines). You will also need to contact the Treasury Solicitors office as the freehold would have reverted to the crown. If you do your research you can restore the management company yourself without the need for solicitors. I done it myself a few years back had similar problems with the flat I own now.
