Not yet paying first direct charges

I have held an account with first direct for nearly 20 years . I have been happy with them , and have had no problems .
I note that they charge £10 a month , unless you maintain a balance of £1000 (which I don't ) .
For some reason , I have never been charged .
I don't have £1,000 going into my ac!!!! every month (I wish) , and rarely have over £1000 in it .
Anyone have any ideas why I haven't been charged ?
Is it because I have held an account for so long ?
I'm not going to ask them in case they start charging !!!
I'd be interested to know why this si the case
Thanks in advance

Do you own another eligible product that waives the banking fee? Such as a FD savings account (not regular saver) or FD credit card?0

See "Banking Fee Waivers" on this page http://www1.firstdirect.com/1/2/rates-and-charges/charges0

Have you got an older type of current account?
Their current product is the 1st Account.
IIRC they offered a Cheque Account previously. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
