Hi,
Could someone give me a bit of advice please?
I'm looking to order some car parts from abroad that would need to be made (equating to about £500), but the company is only a small one. I know he's reputable, since many other people on the same forum have ordered from him before, but he can only accept bank transfer as a payment method, which gives me very little peace of mind, especially since I have to wait a month for the parts to be made.
Could anyone else suggest a way round this? I mentioned paypal to him, but he has said he hasn't set one up, since they incur charges for payments. Is there any other method to insure my money for the worst case scenario?
Thanks in advance.

As far as I know - none. Once a bank transfer is made it is made and can't be retracted without the other party's agreement. (I'm happy to be proven wrong).
Why not come to an agreement? Say 25% up front, another 50% once he despatches (and provides proof of despatch, such as a tracking reference) and the balance on receipt? Trust has to work both ways.

Thanks for the response.
That was part of my initial thought, but he said he would like to cover the costs of materials up front and trying to organise further payments can be awkward to keep track of.0 -
Credit card or PayPal, offer to pay the fees if needs be.Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0
