i would be happy to pay for private schools, i have private medical and dentist.
Are you aware that teachers, doctors, nurses, radiographers, dentists etc are trained within the public sector?0 -
don't tell me you think the old scheme was workable
Did you read this?I don't have any problem with the changes. They are necessary.
By the way are you a wannabee teacher using red to post with?
Perhaps I should have been an oil worker instead of a teacher.

the answer is easy. the haircut has to be the difference between income and borrowing. Let's say income is £20bn and the cost are £30bn so the Govt has to borrow £10bn. You have to cut out £10bn. easy.
As I do not work in and never have worked in the public sector it makes no odds to me.
You don't appear to be able to add up.
In your calculation we cut say £10bn so income now matches expenditure at £20bn. Where do you expect your tax refund to come from.
The calculation will be further distorted by the need to pay out extra welfare payments for many that can't get jobs in the private sector you will have to pay for."If you act like an illiterate man, your learning will never stop... Being uneducated, you have no fear of the future.".....

And he no doubt hasn't factored in the ever growing premiums as the family get older or if they claim for treatment. He also misses the point that if he gets a chronic condition or needs A&E there will be no one there to treat him if he doesn't want to subscribe to the public system.Tenyearstogo wrote: »Are you aware that teachers, doctors, nurses, radiographers, dentists etc are trained within the public sector?"If you act like an illiterate man, your learning will never stop... The problem with this country isn't that the State is too large, it is too small.
Property and in fact any kind of money are theft anyway so this idea about paying public sector workers is moot. Everyone should be a public sector worker and we should all be accountable to and paid by the State (i.e. one another)

You don't want her help... she'd spot the survivor benefits straight away!

but you expect the tax payer to subsidise your pension based on a decision made decades ago?
Actually, I expect my employer to stick to the contract they made with me. The Ts&Cs have changed over the years - and not to my benefit, but that's life. The newer staff have a much less attractive deal, but what they do is their decision, as at the appropriate time, my decision was mine.
At the time as I recall improvements were being made to the pension scheme and OK'd by actuaries (yes - private sector! The horror!), so blame them, not me!
