LOL!! I'm off to Stanley Park AND Poundland today!! It's mad how many times we may actually have crossed each others paths and been none the wiser!!

I'm sure we can come up with a list of suggestions for the DFW weekenders, and naturally we will have to be the tour guides!! With Taxi aswell, as she's local!

On a sunny day, (like today), Blackpool can be enjoyed without spending lots of money.
Let's hope the weekend of the meet is sunny and we can all go play on the beach.

    HI Whatatwit,

You're right - the beach is a must when coming to Blackpool, and I think the weather should still be okay in Sept.

What date is the switch on for the lights this year? Just had a look at the Gazette online and can't see it anywhere??

Fingers crossed for a lovely day/weekend! The beach is very nice i think and as long as the wind isn't too bad can be fab even when it's not so sunny.
The illunminations are great as well - i drove down the front with the kids last november and dd was entranced :D

Usually they go on the weekend after the August Bank holiday, but I'm not sure if 1st September isn't a bit early.
I will go and have a nosey to see what i can find...wonder who'll be switching them on, after last year's fiasco.

    edit: beat me to it.

Sea had a great idea on IA's diary about going to the zoo in Blackpool over the weekend:

and yep, it's def something I'd be up for taking the boys to, whaddya think, IA? There's absoultely loads for kids to do in Blackpool, but sadly it's not all cost effective.:(

We won't be bringing the girls. Ash would be no problem but K would be a bit young for the long journey I think.... plus we'd want a beer. :D
