Payment Protection

Hi everyone!
Does anybody know if you are able to reclaim payment protection insurance (for when you are off sick/had an accident). My boyfriend got an Egg Card in 2003 and has been paying about £20 a month for this cover which he didn't know he was signing up to and received no advice about. I have read in the papers that he might have a claim if he can prove it was missold. Has anybody else heard this or had a similar problem?

Did he see an adviser to get advice about it? If so you complain to the adviser if you think it's been mis-sold. If he didnt seek advice and ticked the box himself then he cannot have been mis-sold.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). Thanks for this information. I have asked him and he does not recall ticking the box, although I believe that there might be an argument that he was not made fully aware that there was an option to exclude this. Also, nobody at Egg fully assessed his circumstances (ie: whether the policy was appropriate for him). I understand that the Competitions Commission are also investigating the high cost of policies used by such companies.0
