It's way too early for a test to give a positive result. If you left the test alone for hours then you're probably seeing evaporation lines. Try again a few days after your period is due.

Six days is very early to test. Tests should also be read within a set time period (usually no more than 10 minutes) because you can get something called evaporation lines.

But... the only way to be sure... POST A PICTURE AND WE'LL TELL YOU!

See.. now I have done thousands (probably literally) of pregnancy tests and I have never ever seen an evaporation line.. not ever!

I have had tests where the +ve line faded away entirely but they are rare (boots ones mainly for some reason)

There could be a possibility you ovulated earlier than you thought you did in which case you could be getting the positive result.

As if you look on the box it says something like 60% accuracy at that far ahead & you'd get a 50% accuracy rate just guessing yourself!!

If you know you're pregnant, why bother starting a thread about it?

Years ago (about 21), I did a pregnancy test that was negative. It sat on my desk for about an hour and a faint blue line appeared. I called the company who made the test and was told that there were often false negatives but only very rarely false positives.

I was pregnant. I wasn't due on for a week.

I've taken many pregnancy tests and they have turned out positive. In due course I've then gone to my GP only to be told it's a false alarm. Sometimes my wee smells of asparagus too.
