Anyone used builder Colin Smith via Betternest?

Sorry to hear of this but we had great experience with Betternest. Sad to hear they have gone into liquidation. We had a significant project that took just over 7 months and cost around £200K. Despite all of the problems we faced from planners, neighbours(party wall) and suppliers Betternest and our builder Colin handled it all brilliantly. We simply couldnt have done it without them. Their approach is completely unique. Its like nothing else out there. Couldnt recommend them highly enough.

can i just ask, why did you pay this person before they finished the job? its not like you go to asda and say oh i think i will buy a loaf of bread in a weeks time and pay for it there and then... i would never pay upfront for anywork to be done, if they need money to complete a job then that would scream money problems to me
