Hello,
I've tried searching the FAQ's but can't see an answer to this. I need some simple plain language guidance as to why I'm having this problem, and how to solve it.
I have an EE BrightBox router; recently changed from a different (less powerful?) Orange router. I have an Acer TravelMate 7520 laptop and a BlackBerry PlayBook tablet.
The tablet seems to always be connected to the internet, but with the laptop I'm having great difficulty 1st of all getting on-line, then keeping on-line if I'm inactive for a while. It was the same with the old router but seemed easier to get back on-line. OK when I tried it wired.
So I think it must be some setting in the laptop which means it drops EE and tries to connect to every other available network - usually favouring BT WiFi/BTWiFi-with-FON.
I have tried to manage the wireless networks via Control Panel/Network & Sharing Center, and have the BrightBox at the top of the list set to automatically connect, with the others set to manually connect. I've tried to remove these others, but if I do they just pop back up set to automatically connect. I try to connect to EE but it often says 'limited connectivity' or 'local only' then immediately switches to one of the BT options.
It's so frustrating so any help gratefully received!
Thanks, B
