Accessorise Slipper Boots - Worn Out in 5 months?!

HI there,
After some advice of some knitted slipper boots I got for my birthday back at the end of October.
They're the knitted slipper boot type with a soft sole and they have only even been worn indoors, mailnly on carpeted surface but the soles have completely worn through in places and the sole they put in the botton to stiffen them is now poking through in several places.
My main question is what should be the lifespan of a slipper. My OH is a bit ppeved that they haven't lasted very long but I don't know if 5 months of wear would be considered to be the life cycle of a pair of slippers like these or of they should last longer.
My OH no longer has the receipt unfortunately and also Accessorize don't have these in stock any longer so if they haven't lasted as long as they should what would be my rights if any?
Thanks for all your help in advance.

I would say 5mths was reasonable use , chuck em and get some new ones... your link doesn't work for me. If you want them to last then get some with a sturdier sole.#6 of the SKI-ers Club :j

Cheers Tannith. Think I'll be after some with a proper rubber sole next time

Sorry the link isn't working

5 months? Blooming heck thats not at all bad! I've just replaced my slipper boots I bought from Tesco at Christmas because they fell apart.
Slipper boots are fashion items really with a material sole, more of a fancy sock than a proper slipper. I wouldn't expect them to last more than a month or two, but you can sell the worn out ones to the fetishists on ebay for a few quid after lmao0 -
I'm on my third pair of Accessorize slippers - I usually get about 6-7 months of wear out of them (and I wear them basically constantly when I'm indoors) and then get new ones. They're not meant to last too long, but they're lovely while they do last which is why I keep going back!0

Cheers for all the replies guys - I did think I'd had a reasonable bit of use from them but the OH was not a happy bunny hence the original post! I've just seen a lovely pair of cable knit ones in the Debenhams sale too so I might be off for a bit of a shop this afternoon!
Haven't found any rubber soled ones I like but as others have mentioned with a soft sole they are more likely to wear out and for a sale price I'm not goin to grumble too much! Everyone has a dark side... apparently mine is called Harold?!? :huh:0 -
You could hack apart an old tyre and make some industrial strength ones! I guess it comes down to how many hours/day over 5 months - if it's a 5-6 hours a week, it's a bit poor, if it's 5-6 hours a day it's a miracle they're still standing ;-)0

thats the link. person who originally posted it started typing a sentence after posting the link without pressing spacebar, so the first word of the sentence ended up at the end of the link making it invalid
You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means - Inigo Montoya, The Princess Bride0 -
