Went to load whatsapp onto my Google nexus 7 but Play Store says its no it supported on my version, is there any way I can get whatsapp on my nexus please?

Whatsapp was never meant to run on a tablet. Therefore, it doesn't support Google Nexus 7. There might be a hack you can try (you'll have to google that).
Have you tried installing Viber from their website? It has similar features to whatsapp and it's free.0
