Being prepared for a Cyprus

Given that Cyprus is going to take money from peoples' bank accounts for pay their debt, and there are rumours that this is going to cause a run on the banks in Cyprus and maybe other banks in Europe, what are the alternatives to putting savings in a bank apart from putting money in a safe?

    If the markets really do drop 100-180 points this morning as many predict then you could do worse than buy solid, blue chip UK companies with long dividend track records.
