Cannot remove write protection on xd card

I cannot remove write protection on my olympus xd card. CS told me to connect my camera to the pc and there should be a removable disk/DCIL/100 Olympus. I have connected the camera to the PC and nothing happens, there is no removable disk. Any idea what I am doing wrong? Thanks

    Have you installed the Olympus camera software on your computer ? It may contain drivers that are required.
