    Sometimes it makes sense, particularly if you make purchases up to the value of your minimum payment just before your statement date and pay off just after. Next to no interest in return for which you maintain your 0% balance at its original level for the entire term instead of it declining. The "cashflow saved" can then be applied to debt elsewhere. So it really comes down to what else is going on with your other CCs. If you are not paying interest for credit anywhere, then best not to mix the balances as you say and put the purchases onto a card you pay off in full.
