Surely if the seller goes into paypal to the original transaction they can find the OP's email address and make a direct payment to them. Even if they can't get to the original transaction because of the dispute, just give them your paypal email address and they can send the payment if they really are willing to refund. Job done, close dispute..simples. Oh and then probably a neg for counterfeit goods.

Firstly, they can get to the original transaction via the dispute, as is said above.

    Then,

Secondly, unless you are past the 60 days (where you cannot refund via the transaction) you should ALWAYS refund via it. Never send a direct payment. You can leave yourself having sent a direct payment and then the buyer makes a chargeback on the original transaction. Result = you have lost the money twice.

Not sure by what you mean with the reference to being a good citizen but I am not the one in the wrong!

What I mean is that counterfeiting presumeably breaches Trading Standards in this country and may even be a crime so reporting it to ebay is the right thing to do as a law-abiding citizen. However, this firm is probably working on the basis that most people will take the refund now, keep the item and not wait until ebay sort things out. I would probably do what you are doing by going down the dispute road btw.

Thanks, Theonlywayisup,i've learned something new today, not ever had a dispute opened against me,always resolved it beforehand,so didn't know how chargebacks work as such. guess only people doing that would be scam artists, not people like the OP who only wants refunding for fake gear.

    Forwarned is forarmed..thanks
