Pre payment card credit.

Does anyone know if gas prepayment cards lose their credit after a set time?
I last topped up my British Gas card on the 28th of Feb and forgot to put it in the meter. Tonight when I got home I found that the gas was off so remembering the top up I'd made I took the card to the meter to find that there was a zero balance on it and had to use the emergency credit.
I'm assuming that if credit isn't used within a set time that you lose the money put onto the card so is it possible to call British Gas in the morning and have them re-instate the credit?

Sounds like the credit has not been put on the card surely the expiry date is longer then 1 month. Do you have the receipt?
This is one of the reason's I like credit meters0 -
I do still have the receipt. Hopefully BG can help me in the morning, I've never had any trouble topping up at this store before which is why I'm thinking the credit may have expired.0

See the idea is you would never leave credit on your card as you would remember topping up a few seconds prior. As soon as you remove the card from the machine straight in the meter it goes.0
