I have a 2.0 TDI Passat (2008) and almost exactly the same milage as you (3 mile to work) no problems at all with the DPF as the longer runs clean it fine.
You will also find that most cars in this class / size are diesel as they are made for the company market so the £2000 mark up they talk about does not really count on second hand market, in fact when I bought mine I could only find one petrol Passat in a 30 mile range from my house and it was more expensive than the dieselsTotally Debt Free & Mortgage Free Semi retired and happy0 -
Hi, I have just picked up an 11 plate Passat Estate 1.6 TDI Bluemotion. It's a fantastic car to drive, and more importantly economical to run. My mpg is 58 at present, gained from a 50/50 motorway/urban use. £30 a year road tax, my insurance has gone down £120 a year.
Before I had a 4x4 that did around 20mpg, and £270 a year tax.0
