Council policy to let every tradesmen into their property

I agree with Firefox, to the best of my knowledge no one, including the Councils own staff can simply turn up unannounced and impose entry upon you against your wishes for a visit of this nature.
If you are unhappy you complain to the Council - they are the Landlord & they are "employing" the contractor.0 -
meter readers also turn up on doorsteps without appointments. If we are not allowed access to the meters we have no right of entry whatsoever. To get access the supplier would have to go through the proper channels and obtain a warrant and possibly a locksmith. The gas service engineer will be under exactly the same conditions as us, he can only come in with the occupiers permission. It doesnt matter if its a council landlord or a private landlord. If they knock on your door trying that game , being pushy about entry, send them packing, to return when you find it convenient.0

If the landlord had a right to enter these evictions would not have happened.
