Which are alternatives to Bathstore?

Options
Dear all, I am going to buy materials for a new toilet. I have visited Bathstore.com, which seems to be good.

Are there any other good alternatives to this store?

Thank you.

My friend told me about " better bathrooms" as she's just ordered from them and was pleased although it was too late for me as mine was on order by then. Sorry I don't know anything else about them might be worth a look.

Thank you for your tip. I have searched online and found that these have high street stores:

    http://www.plumbcenter.co.uk/

    City Plumbing

Any information about these shops are appreciated. We would prefer to visit a high street store rather than buying everything online.

My local Bathstore is OK actually - mind you I've got 'em trained and I also have a direct contact in central technical support for any issues.

City Plumbing are pretty good. Plumbcentre is owned by Wolseley and therefore part of a major chain.

Don't touch the internet shopfronts with a bargepole. They may be cheap but thats reflected in quality and non existent customer support although some are a lot better than others.

You won't go wrong with your local plumbing merchant either. They can and will give you a good deal.

    Cheers

I thought I asked you yesterday on the other thread to please not say that. :D Was she pleased with the price? Bet she hasn't taken delivery yet.

Dear Keystone, you seem to know a lot. I was told the name of the stores is one thing, but equally important is the brands of the materials that you buy.

Could you pls advise some good brands for toilet, shower and basin? My budget is up to £1,500.

    My sincere thanks,

Mira Flight for your shower tray
    Bristan/Grohe/Hansgrohe/Manhattan for brassware
    Kaldewei/Bette for steel baths
    Ideal Standard/Twyfords/Carron for sanitaryware

That should do you for going on with.

    Cheers

  • Ebay and home-depot has variety of toilet to choose from. Before shopping, be sure to measure the “rough-in,” or the distance from the wall to the center of the toilet drain. A 12-inch rough-in is standard, but some are 10 or 14 inches.

The terminology you use in a number of your posts suggests you'd be better off posting on a NAmerican-centric forum TBH.
