Is this a scam www.bid-autotrader.com

Hi,
I have a car or sale on autotrader and have received a text saying:-
Is you XXX still for sale? I can pay £xxxx cash and collect tomorrow. To accept visit www.bid-autotrader.com

Has anyone had any experience of these. I've 'googled' and can't find much on them - good or bad. The web site looks a bit lacking in detail. I also tried to ring but they were already closed for the day.

Just thought I'd see if anyone on here and ever used them,

Cheers

    Same as sold-autotrader.com

It's a scam, avoid it and report it to Autotrader as someone else is playing on their domain name.

It must be a scam; if they wanted to buy the car why try and direct you through another site instead of buying direct?

    Absolute 100% scam IMO

The domain was only registered two days ago, and is registered to a proxy domain provider in the US http://www.whois.com/whois/bid-autotrader.com

The site doesn't list a company name, number, or registered address, which is all illegal.

The postcode given is actually a Royal Mail delivery office
    http://www.allinlondon.co.uk/directory/1387/74.php

This is the real reason for the site:
    http://www.bid-autotrader.com/terms.php
    9.a Our Fees
https://www.bid-autotrader.com does NOT charge any fees for our service.
We may request a fully refundable appointment deposit.

IMO, the money from your deposit will be abroad in some dodgy jurisdiction within hours, and you will never ever see it again.

I suggest you report it at http://www.actionfraud.police.uk/
