Offshore bank account or money transfer service?
Options

Hello everybody
as I do have a property abroad, I'm getting bother to keep paying money while converting money regardless is buying foreign currency within UK, or using the credit card while abroad.
So I was thinking to open an offshore bank account, but some of them are impossible to open (Lloyds International for instance requires a £50k annual income to allow you opening one).
That said, I have also saw some web site like http://www.hifx.co.uk/ that offer online transfers service for free. Not sure whether or not it is really for free. Of course on their site they claim this to be the case.
And this may sounds an option as I still have a local bank account in the foreign country to pay utility bills via direct debit.
So which could be the best option in my circumstance? Have you tried the web site above or any other alternative? What is your experience on this regard?
Thanks
Andrea
