My holiday isn't going to be that exciting, if I was going somewhere abroad I would definitely not take my laptop.
But I'm going to have tons of free time in the evenings (I have insomnia so lots of spare hours) so just need to find a dongle so I can use my laptop while away.

I must be a terrible addict as I always take my laptop and comp late in the evening when everyone's in bed :( x

I go away quite a lot and always take my laptop except when going abroad. Using a dongle can be pretty expensive and doesn't always work that well. I used to use a Vodafone one but only use it to check emails now if I can't find free WIFI. I am making a point of only booking hotels with free WIFI now as even if I don't use it I feel they are making the effort and want to encourage them! Most popular fast food chains and Inns now have free WIFI and a lot of Tesco Extras I think. I always pay the £3 at Premier Inns too for 24 hours.

  • Up until now I've always caught up on big comps and got ahead to have a few days off. Later this week we're off to Munich and I'm going to just have a complete break :D

May you all have lots of luck, Emma xx

I've haven't been abroad since starting comping so not sure what I would do TBH. But the last two holidays we have had (Caravan holidays - The Sun £9.50 ones) I have taken my laptop and done some comping. I tend to do all the ones ending the days we are away (as I'm an end-date comper anyway) then just fit in an hour doing the dailies either through the free wi-fi in the clubhouse or through a dongle I have on pay monthly with 3 which costs me about £8 a month.

If we were lucky enough to go abroad, I don't think I would worry too much about not comping - certainly wouldn't take my laptop with me. I'd just try and do all the ones ending and then relax on holiday :)

  • dependent on where I'm going then yes if I can fit it in I do..last year had no wifi or mobile reception in Cornwall so couldn't but in Rome I sometimes did after breakfast...
  • I haven't had a holiday in a couple of years & only started comping more seriously last year so I haven't had that problem yet. I would like to think that when I finally do get round to having a holiday I would be able to have a break from comping...although I would like to be able to check my e-mails for WEMs. I wouldn't want to find out I'd missed out on a good prize because I'd not responded to an e-mail quickly enough!
We used to have a dongle & it was awful! It was really hard to get a signal & if we did get a signal it was sooooooooooooo unbelievably slow! I wouldn't recommend them!

Naaah. I'd feel like I was wasting the holiday. Comps will still be there when you get back. I'd still check my email for WEMs but that'd be it.
