The final nail in the coffin was when I realised that both my logon id and the website URL had changed without me being notified.

When did the website URL change? I've been using the same one for about a year now - if not more.

The Icelandic bank has increased its saver rate to 5.95% w.e.f. 18th May. Hopefully battle is joined.

You will now earn a new increased rate of 6.05% AER with our HiSAVE Savings Account. This rate is effective from May 18th 2007.

I just the email as well, I closed my account several months ago, but I could be tempted back now.

This is good news. The problem with ICICI is that their statements (online) are hard to follow. I find it difficult if not impossible to work out if the interest applied is correct because they don't give a before and after (interest applied) balance. Anybody else bothered by this?

I suppose the only thing you could do would be to check you balance at business close on the last day of the month and then check again the following morning when the interest has been applied.

Agreed. The front page all looks very professional. However, as soon as you log in you are faced with a Mickey Mouse system for navigating around your account and the statement is a mess.
Still, a small price to pay for excellent rates I suppose!

I have 3.5k with IceSave at the mo - earns roughly £6 a month interest. I intend to add around £200 per week.

Will it really be worth me sending payments to ICICI now instead given that on the 18th May they are also raising their rates?

I still have the ICICI account open.

The difference in monthly return between ICICI and IceSave would curently be pennies with your current investment. However, I follow the rule that my money should be earning the maximum possible at all times (where practicle). At £200 a week your investment will quickly grow and the compound interest earned would be slightly higher with a HiSave account. Personal choice of course.
