I was working on a word document that was saved on a memory stick. I had finished adding to it so clicked save but an error message came up and said couldn't save to unknown something or other, didn't think much of it and thought I would 'save as' This happened the other day and no problem but then it flashed up that it was rescuing documnet then would close it. Before I could do anything it disappeared. It is no longer on my memory stick Help has it rescued it to a particular part of my computer? or have I lost it forever?
I suspect my memory stick which is quite old is dying I know you will say what about a backup well 99% of everything on the memory stick is backed up elsewhere this is work I started yesterday and runs to 10 pages Ugh
Anyone got any helpful suggestions please

Scan the USB thumb drive with Recuva and if no go, the same with the HDD to a separate newly created folder.0

Hard Disk Drive-the drive on your PC.
If you used 'Save As', then it will have been saved under a different file name to the original, so do a wildcard search under .docNo free lunch, and no free laptop0 -

Few suggestions in here...
I always used to find unsaved word docs searching the .tmp suffix and it worked for me once.0 -
How do I d a wildcard search under .doc and .tmp
I am not totally computer illiterate but nearly :-)
If I try and open the document I recovered under Recuva I get the message
Word cannot start the converter mswrd632 ???Thanks to MSE savings we got to go to Disneyworld Florida.
