I was thinking of placing an order with SLRhut, good job I didn't. This is just a snippet of their T's & C's on their website: most of which looks to break UK consumer law!!!

They're not a UK company - although they do hold themselves out to be located in the UK.
You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means - Inigo Montoya, The Princess Bride

Another topic bump, but I am having extreme difficulties dealing with SLRHut at the moment.
They failed to deliver the item on time for an event I needed it for, and I was forced to buy from a retailer instead for full price. They have said they will give a full refund but are refusing to cover the cost of returning it to them, considering it was their error.
I have been back and forwards with them, arguing that actually they mislead me, because I believed them to be a UK company, which they are not. They asked whether I needed it by dateX, I said yes. They are selling grey imports, which avoid UK/EU VAT laws, and I could have had to pay a fine. They claim to be a certified merchant with a company called buySAFE, which they are not. The list goes on, but they just became rude in the emails. I have given them one final chance to redeem themselves by requesting the situation is escalated to the head of customer services, but failing that I will be raising a dispute through PayPal.

I would most definitely NOT recommend this company!

You could have done your bit to find out if they were a UK company, you can't put the whole blame on them for that.

How did you pay for the item ?

As you system they aren't UK based so pointless in getting it escalated. Contact PayPal.

Do research on the website before spending alot of money.

I have a general rule about such companies. Price is only an enticement, look at Trustpilot or similar sites. Scroll down to the bottom of the negative reviews if they have more than 2 pages then DON'T TRUST THEM.
ALWAYS use a credit card. even on Paypal.
