I've a Galaxy S2 which is under contract with Three (a few more months to go yet before out of contract).
I would really like to get the Jellybean version of Android (one reason being to resize widgets) but can this be done while the phone is under contract?

It would invalidate the warranty on the phone.
JB for the S2 is being deployed OTA now anyway so why not just wait?0 -

Not bothered about the warranty, but never knew the roll out was soon - I'll wait. Thanks for the infoHi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0 -
If all you want to do is resize widgets them just download a different launcher0

It's a warranty issue, not a contract issue.
I flashed my old contract Desire Z after a few days because it annoyed me with all the non-removable Facebook crap. Yay for CyanogenMod and AOKP.0 -
You could also try novalauncher - it means I can set certain options that touchwiz didn't accommodate, it effectively re-skins the desktop interface.0

Contract is the phone locked is the first question .
JB update as long as its a UK firmware it should be no problem .

I kind of got the impression that this was about an unofficial firmware such as CyanogenMod.
If you install it correctly, it should also be possible to unlock the phone for free!0 -

probably right long time since i was I9100 no idea of current official firmware (sammobile.com will list them )
If its stock Samsung firmware if it has been released even if it does not match original Samsung warranty is valid ..
If indeed it is a custom rom of any sort or even rooted then Samsung warranty is void .
Phone can be restored to original firmware if its noted ..0 -
Well I got the official update yesterday. 4.1.2 apparently, not 4.2.
Can't say I can identify what all the bother is about, especially as my battery now lasts about 2 milliseconds before needing a recharge.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0
