**** £6000 'Stolen' from my card this week ***
Hi everyone just to let you know to watch out and keep a close eye on your credit card transactions (even if you haven't been using your card). This week I had a letter from Barclaycard asking to confirm details on some credit transfers I'd requested. I had not made any transfers so I told them that my card had obviously been compromised and they went through a list of companies that I had had dealings with (bona fide) They said £6000 in total had been requested as transfers ! They immediately put me through to their fraud investigators who was at pains to help me and confirm I would not be charged even though some transactions may temporarily be seen on my account. Firstly excellent customer service from Barclaycard. Secondly , I can't see how anyone could have 'scammed' my PC (it has a high level of security on the network and firewall. Thirdly it means probably some company has leaked my details either to an employee or another malicious third party . Another thing I did have a phone call earlier in the week which I did think was a scam but looking back was Barclaycard. A person with an indian sub continent accent called and asked to continue speaking about my on line account. I put the phone down with a peremptory 'No thank you' . This was I think when Barclaycard became suspicious. So Beware !

I immediately asked Barclaycard to drop my CC limit to £2000 from £11,000 which was a ridiculous amount as I am only using for essential purchases.0
