Named Driver NCD

I have recently passed my test (Jan) and have been on the car insurance as a named driver for the past ten years. I am debating as to whether I should use the car for work and if so I would then need to be the main driver. I am 42 and we have a 2010 Mazda 6 at the moment my husband is the main driver but the quotes I have had with me as a main driver is a lot more expensive. Renewal is at the end of the month is there anyone that will give me credit for being a named driver previously ?

Probably not as you only just passed your test.
You have zero driving experience of driving solo.
If using it for work then you probably should be the main driver. Unless you only work one day a week and your partner uses the car for the rest of the week.
Insurance companies are not stupid on this one. They will take your money. But the issues come to light if you need to claim. Then find your not covered.
If you are the main driver then you should insure as such.
Get a smaller cheaper car. Just passing your test and driving a car like that is bound to cost a lot more.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
Thanks for that - If I was going to be the main driver I would insure as such just weighing up the costs at the moment to see if it is cheaper for me to carry on using the bus most of the week. To insure a smaller car is as much really and with three children we dont want to go much smaller and the costs of running a second car would be much more.0
