Whilst their £9.99p a month line rental deal with inclusive evening and weekend calls may look attractive. They are now blocking access to 1899 etc.Plus they charge £1.50p a month for caller display as opposed to BT,s nearly free (11p a month).

And BT aren't allowed to block these access numbers are they.

Where did you get the 11p a month caller id from, as when i checked it was £1-1.50 for that service?

BT's requirement for a customer to get 'free' 1571 and Caller Display is to make 2 chargeable calls per month if you're billed monthly or 6 chargeable calls per quarter if you're billed quarterly.

The cheapest way of doing that is to make 2 (or 6) evening or weekend UK 01/02 calls of less than an hour - at 5½p each, that comes to 11p (or 33p). It's possible to reduce that slightly with Friends & Family discounts.
Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.

Around July 2006 (I think) when you could get caller display free this way, then earlier this year they changed the un-policed 'some calls' terms, to you need to make at least 2 calls per month or 6 calls per quarter with BT to continue to receive Caller Display for 'free'.
It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc... It's no one not noone, It's a lot not alot, It's got not gotten... Panini is the plural of panino - there is no S!!

    Hello there,
I have just joined this Madasafish deal. I switched to the Broadband at first from Waitrose.com as its the same ISP, brightview I think, I didn't need a MAC they just changed the realm over.I was worried about the restrictions.
I think the calls are Free calls are unlimited now on the website I have added line rental activated today 30th and I can still use the 1899 dicountdial etc.
Not sure if its gonna stay that way though.

The madasafish website shows their £9.99 line rental (best of luck if a repair is needed) includes free evening and weekend UK 01/02 calls of up to 60 minutes - redial to avoid charges.

I think I'll lash out the extra 76p/month to stay with BT line rental (£10.75/month), save £1.39 on Caller Display (11p/month), keep free evening and weekend UK 01/02 calls of up to 90 minutes - redial to avoid charges - courtesy of Primus Saver option 2 and still have 1899, 18185 and 18866 access for mobile, international and weekday UK 01/02 calls.

    From their T&C

"3.12 We reserve the right to restrict your access to other Networks and route all calls through our Network"

They do block access to short codes 1899 etc,as your probaly find out in due course. They dont block access to 0844 numbers,in fact they operate one thereselves, where you have to pay an expensive 4p a minute from a landline to call their customer services.

    Hello there Hurrah
I switched in time and will be connected back to BT Line rental.
My primus package has come to the end of its free evening and weekend calls.
Who would be the best now for evening and weekend calls do I need to switch supplier from Primus and back again to get the same deal or would it be easier just to go with Skytalk.
I was hoping Madasafish would not enforce its policy.

Could you explain that, I have just signed up for Primus Saver Option 2 and did not pick up on any expirery date for the free evening and weekend calls.

Going to re-activate my BT line soon (after several years on another service).

Are there any decent deals out there?
