But you are arguing against this on the other thread. Can't possibly have the government wasting money on bailouts."If you act like an illiterate man, your learning will never stop... Being uneducated, you have no fear of the future.".....

A bit like your other thread where you just want public sector workers to starve and suffer."If you act like an illiterate man, your learning will never stop... Being uneducated, you have no fear of the future.".....

Sorry mate, you're a few thousand years too late.
That precedent happened when we invented "tax".I would rather the banks went bust, businesses and investors lose out, and the Govt honors the bank guarantee on savings - and if they can't afford to, then the ECB should step in and do it for them.

what are you talking about? cyprus is a member of the EU and a member of the eurozone. therefore, the ECB should guarantee the savings of the citizens, it the Cypriate Govt can't afford to meet its obligations.
Nothing to do with liking them. The EU has raped and trodden on enough nations. They should at least do what they are supposed to do.0 -

A question that keeps coming to mind is - what is the benefit to Germany in all of this - why are they bothering to give this money?
A cynic may think that they simply want the Cypriots to continue to be able to pay the German loans that were taken out to buy German goods that keep the German workers in jobs.0 -
Spain have their 'fiesta', on Tuesday and Wednesday, so I wonder if they are troubled by the thought of non working ATM's, during their 'bank holiday'.Mortgage: Aug 12 £114,984.74 - Jun 14 £94000.00 = Total Payments £20984.74
