Hi  from Nannylala,I have been away for the weekend helping a friend at her caravan but unfortunately no internet .I am absolutely exausted as have been helping her put down bags of chippings and paving slabs and boulders on the edge of her boundary to stop the guy next door from churning up her grass with his car:eek: We have had such a laugh and got lots of help along the way at the builders yard and garden centre by some nice young men ;)quite a treat for two widowed ladies:)
I was very flattered to see I had been missed on line so thankyou.I am too tired to catchup tonight so hoping all is well with everyone as Its an early night for this very tired Nannylala so Good night :A0 -

(Got one earlier in the week, but everyone's been having them.) Super6 now include Broccoli, Parsnips, onions, 1kg Carrots and some small bag of potatoes that are still well over 60p/kg (above my guide price of around 45p/kg). All at 49p. I'll go and check regarding the 5pk (6pk?) oranges.
Savvy, have you managed to find any potatoes for 40-45p kg anywhere? We haven't had a roast for two weeks now as I refuse to buy the rubbish potatoes that are available in the supermarkets at hugely inflated prices at the moment. We usually get brought a sack when friends go back to Somerset but they didn't get any last time as apparently the sack was more mud than potato. I got a 25kg sack from Milk & More when they had a £5 off a £10 spend offer on a while back and that was at target price but I threw a good number of the spuds away as they were rotten right through. Never any whoopsied potatoes anywhere either. I am really struggling spud wise at the moment!
Thank you x
Thank you to everyone whose advice has helped me in my desperate quest to make ends meet. x
EDIT-Back on the quest, I've been away too long!0 -

On the next street (my mums) about 20 people were out digging and managed to clear the street, they would have had more more half the men had gone to Wembley (which we won). So I am still stuck at home with no food, gas and electric will run out in the morning so I'm going to have to leave oh alone and go and find somewhere that's had a delivery of bread and milk, wish the council would get the fingers out and get the snow plough to the side roads
Oh dear that's a pest. We live on a hill and can't get up or down yet. At least I can walk to town if the need arises. Hope you get sorted soon. Glad to hear we won.0 -
As SC says it won't damage you by removing minerals, it just doesn't deliver the minerals you might find healthy.
If you were injected with it you'd be in terrible trouble but drinking it, no. Just make sure you're getting your calcium elsewhere.;)
common or everyday tap water is fine even with the "hardness" it won't do you any harm and is far better than the softened carp.;)Exactly the same here. I subscribed on the 16th. No DD set up yet and just got the confirmation emails from Let's subcribe.

It gets madder.
We get a water softener, so we can't drink water that has been softened. But we do want the kitchen tap water to be free of limescale so we get a filter r/o that filters the softened water to remove the excess sodium. Then we find that trace minerals are also removed from the water, so I take a multi-mineral supplement every day.
I haven't heard that the pure water also draws out minerals in your body, only that it doesn't contain essential trace minerals. I would have thought it would have been banned as your drinking water tap if it really was capable of drawing out stuff in your body.
Drinking any sort of water in large amounts can actually be harmful. The body needs salts to function properly and they can be flushed out to such a low level that the brain starts to swell. I've seen a case recently in the UK of this happening but couldn't find the reference. Did find this one which is a similar case:

Pure water (demineralised or distilled water ) may cause a slight increase in the problem as it is as far away as possible from being isotonic but it is quantity rather than quality that is the main problem as far as I know.
I personally don't drink tap water neat as I don't like the taste. I do however drink expensive bottled water (Badoit) which is natural slightly sparkling water because I like the taste (quite salty) One of the problems with bottled mineral water is that it can contribute a significant amount of salts to the daily diet.
