I've tried looking at them but it says there are different size screens for mine so says I need to make sure the pins are in the correct place. I'm trying to find someone who fixes them as I've got no chance of doing it myself

Do you have accidental cover on your house insurance? if so that should cover it

I am considering that, just trying to weigh up how much our insurance will go up if we make a claim, would it be worth it for a £300 laptop.
I've just looked on our local Facebook group and there's someone who fits them for £20 so just got to make sure I get the right screen

I found this video quite useful:
    http://www.techrepublic.com/blog/cracking-open/how-to-replace-a-broken-laptop-screen/816.
As far, as I know a person, who would fix it for you can charge quite high. A friend of mine changed hers recently and I can ask her from where did she get the replacement, if this will be of any help. :)
...reality is a point of view...

I had my sons ( new:mad:) phone repaired not long ago after he fell asleep with it and it dropped on the wooden floor and cracked the screen. I found a place online that repaired it....new screen for £40, plus what it cost me to send it registered post. I expect there are similar services for laptops? probably a bit dearer for a laptop though?

it wasn't worth the excess for me to have it done on accidental house insurance cover. I payed by PayPal as well just in case anything went wrong. The phone is worth about £400( contract phone) have a look, you might be able to get it repaired at a reasonable cost. Also check local computer repair shops
