Avast update

Have just updated to the new V8 Avast anti virus, and was offerred (as always) upgrade to paid-for version. And wondered if this might be a good idea as it includes:

* secures online banking and shopping
* blocks hacker attacks
* secures personal data & ID
* stops spam and phishing

Not clear how it does these, but they seem useful. For context, I also use:

* windows firewall
* Spywareblaster
* run Mawarebytes anti-malware periodically
* run Spybot periodically
* run superantispyware periodically

As I shop and bank online, should I consider this?

Avast 7 Pro I'm sure also offered those "features". I'm updating to 8 standard right now.

I'm sure it did, & guess when I 1st installed Avast I considered and rejected Pro.

But always worth reviewing these things. As I say, I do alot of internet banking/shopping so particularly noticed those features this time.
