Help re NPower to Scottish Power switch
Options
Hi,
In early February my mum wrongly thought that her current NPower deal expired in March 2013 so she used MSE to find the best deal which was with Scottish Power.
Scottish Power wrote to her on the 25th of February confirming that they were in the process of taking over her supply. She then got a call from NPower asking her why she was leaving and that her current deal didn't expire until next year.
Unfortunatley she took this call whilst away from home looking after my Grandmother and only got back today, when she told me.
I asked her to contact Scottish Power to cancel the transfer but they told her it was too late although they did not confirm that they were now providing her utilities. This means she is now going to incur a £40 penalty per Gas and Electricty from NPower. Being a pensioner she can ill afford this, and she concedes she made a mistake.
Is there anything we can do?

Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body,
but rather to skid in sideways, thoroughly used up, totally worn out and loudly proclaiming ..... wow what a Ride!

If its a valid contract all she can do is look for goodwill, but they dont have toDon't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.0
