Yes it'll be fine, it's the jars you've got to watch, if left for a while after opening there's a fur grows on top of puree, so wouldn't use that stuff.

My mother always tell me that till there is not that fur growing then you can use it.
ANyway if the taste is good then there should be any problem.

You can freeze tomato puree. I do this in an ice cube tray and just use it as I need it. I also freeze pesto, minced garlic and chilli paste using the ice cube trays.

You really shouldn't be having tubes of tomato puree hanging around for months on end. If you aimed to use a tube a week you might find you didn't need to use so much sublock.

If mine had been in the fridge and I don't know how long for, I squeeze out the first couple of cms in case its a bit manky and then use whats behind

Idea being that the air got to the bit at the end so if I get rid of that bit, the rest will be fine.

The paste will separate when the tube has had it. I'd chuck it if the sell by date was up other wise squeeze away.
