I am 56 and about to take flexible retirement and continue working part time in NHS until I am 60. I have a good pension and choice of higher pension and lower lump sum or lower pension and higher lump sum, I dont know which one to take.I have no mortgage. I don't get my st ate pension until I am 67. Any advice?

Normally with a final salary pension you are advised to take the higher pension and lower lump sum as the commutation rate of 12:1 is dire.

However I suppose it depends on whether or not you actually need the higher lump sum. If you don't need it then go with the higher pension.
