Double Glazing problem
rbsn
Had a new front door installed, however the front door frame is out of square in one corner, therefore the door looks crooked and is draughty, the firm came back and adjusted the door, but it is no better. I refused to pay the whole amount as I am not satisfied with either the fit or the door itself as it has several small chips in it. The company say my expectations are too high and the door will chip anyway in time! and they will take me to court if I do not pay up, they say the onus is on me to prove that the door is wrongly fitted and I would need someone independant to look at it but who? they say not another double glazing firm as they would not be independant. Can anyone give me some advice please.

Had much the same proplem ,put it on paper saying it is not fit for purpuse .Say you are getting a builder in to look at it . These doors are all about the fitter !!! In the end the boss and one of his fitters did it all is fine now ,that was after it was done 3 times ( the same door 3 times ) DON'T GIVE UP0

My !!!!! is another double glazing firm not independent.
Independent means not you and not someone from their company. Another glazing company or a builder or fitter would be fine.0 -
Forgot to say ,I said in print that I would get in touch with Trading Standers also ,that is when they fixed it .You must put down on paper and send it to them first ,so they have a chance to fix the problem .0
