2nd letter to Next Debt collection

Options
Hi all , My partner owes money to Next and cant afford the payments . I sent letters to all her debtors explaining our situation and offering a montly payment of 10 pounds.
Most have been happy with this but Next has refused saying 22 a month for 6 months is the minimum they can accept. What should my next letter say ? ? Should I pay the 10 pound I said in the letter and ignore the threat of debt agency .The full debt from next is 350 and other debts add up to 800 . I know this is small amount but we really cant afford it and struggling .
Many thanks fkr any help .

    Normally something like this.
    Dear Sir/Madam

    Account No: _____________________________

Thank you for your recent letter/telephone call concerning the above account.

I am/we are sorry that you feel unable to accept the offer which I/we have made.

The majority of my/our other creditors have accepted the offers made to them and I/we have begun making payments.

I/we cannot offer you more because I/we can only afford £_______ each month between all my/our other creditors, and it would be wrong to cease or reduce payments to my/our other creditors in favour of your company. The offer made to you is on a pro-rata basis, as used by the county court.

In the light of the other creditors agreeing to my/our repayment plan, please would you reconsider my/our offer?

I/we will be making the payments in line with the offer to your company, on a weekly/monthly basis, as a gesture of goodwill.

I/we would also remind you that "pressurising debtors to pay more than they can reasonably afford without experiencing undue difficulty" is contrary to the OFT guidelines as an oppressive and unfair practice, and will be treated and reported accordingly.

I/we look forward to hearing from you.

    Yours faithfully

Hi all again , so as above i sent Very and Next letters and have been paying what i can afford each month to them . I ignored any threats or phone calls from them and asked them to communicate with me through letter .

We just recieved two statements from Very and Next demanding minium payments of 60 and 80 pounds each month ! also that even though they have been getting our payments of 10 pounds each month they have been putting 25 pounds on interest .
Please whats our next step ? went to citizens advice to get a debt relief order but as in their opinion debts below 1500 are not worth it .
    Many thanks for help

Make a formal complaint and tell them you will be taking it to the FOS if they do not suspend interest and charges and treat you with consideration given your financial difficulty.

    Thanks for replys .
The debts are my partners and i have cut the spending . We can afford 40 pounds after food , childcare etc and have sent many letters to say we will pay each of them 10 pounds a month. We havent missed a payment but they refuse to help out . They have even raised the minium payments to account for the months we payed 10 pounds instead of there 40 pounds each .

And I would invite them to take you to court if they're not willing to be reasonable, unless you're trying to avoid a CCJ at all costs.

They dont have to suspend the charges
Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.

Chanz is correct, they do not need to suspend interest or charges, under BCOBs they need to give consideration but they are not forced to do so.
