Why can't they get them right? Any other site, you log in and stay logged in for a certain amount of time. It might not be very long if it involves an account with real money but long enough to move around the site for a few minutes and get your business done.
But with Amazon, make one wrong move and you have to log in again. This can happen several time per session. Amazon are generally one of the best traders so why can't they get this simple thing right?

What browser are you using?0 -
I use amazon quite a lot and haven't experienced the same problem as you....could it be an issue with your browser/local settings rather than the site?Common sense?...There's nothing common about sense!0

They do get it right, it's a problem on your end. I only have to log in again very infrequently, on all of the PCs / phones / tablets I use.0 -
Interesting. What I get on Chrome, Firefox and even IE10 is that it has my name at the top of the page but as soon as I try to do anything it asks me to log in (it DOES have my account email filled in). If I then go back to shopping, when I try and check out, it asks me to log in AGAIN. (Even though it still has my name displayed at the top of the screen).
I'll try this on a friend's PC when I get the chance.0 -

This is the same for me except that I don't need to log in twice in one session. If I leave the site and come back I do have to.
Reading the help page below, it appears to set a 14 day "personal" cookie that shows your personalised pages but insists on you confirming your password to do anything connected to your account - possibly a session cookie.
In Firefox, I have 8 Amazon cookies recorded

Do you have any extensions on your browsers that 'protect' you by removing/stopping cookies and trackers? Some do and won't allow the cookie to stay or collect information and therefore you would have to set Amazon to be excluded to stop this happening.0

Otherwise have you had a general clean up lately? Cleared all your cookies/ history/ temp internet files (CCleaner), updated everything (FileHippo Update Checker), run antivirus and malware scans?Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0
