Section 9 of the local government finance act 1992 as amended by the 2003 act.I no longer work in Council Tax Recovery but instead work as a specialist Council Tax paralegal assisting landlords and Council Tax payers with council tax disputes and valuation tribunals. My views are my own reading of the law and you should always check with the local authority in question.0 -
Yes I live in Scotland- have already contacted the council to try and make sense of the water and sewerage charges because there doesn't seem to be a discount on them.
Unless there has been a change then the discount should be calculated as 25% of the total of CT and water and sewerage. Where I live now isn't connected to mains water or sewers so my bill wouldn't help, but that was certainly how it was done when I last lived in Edinburgh 3 years ago.0
