Council Tax - 12 monthly instalments

Yes - but they sent me a plan for 10 instalments

My bill came with the usual 10 month installment plan. It did say in the small print on the back that 12 month plans were available.

I emailed in and they sorted it out no problem. I did have to switch payment date from the 1st to the 8th though.

That's true, but its up to the council if they do so. If they do then they can take action against anyone who doesn't pay as shown on their bill.

Although, seeing earlier posts, I also enquired about discount for paying in full and was told none available - also she didnt know that other councils did this .......

Most council's don't use this option and so staff would probably not know about it. The council have to foot any costs of the reduction so for that reason many don't

No - but I knew that I could pay in 12 instalments

I had to put my request in writing - there was not mention of 12 months on my bill so I went in and asked - did letter there and then and got a receipt for it, - they have a knack of misplacing paperwork so always best to take in person.

I got my council tax bill today
It said on the back that I could ask to pay over 12 months, so that is what I have done
